Involuntary Prometheus

Невольный прометей
by Evgeny Strelkov

The film tells about the activities of rocket scientist Ilya Stafievsky, who methodically embodied the youthful dream of flying to Mars.  In the character of a fictional hero, the features (as well as individual facts of the biography) of a real space dreamer, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, sometimes appear. The visual fabric of the painting uses graphics from the books of futurists and geeks: Velimir Khlebnikov, Igor Terentyev and Ilya Zdanevich. Despite the absurdist tone, the film shows sincere admiration for the courage and perseverance of the discoverers in science and art.
