Aesculapius Of The Revolution

Эскулап революции
by Evgeny Strelkov

The film tells about the activities of the legendary revolutionary Vasily Saratov, whose name, according to the authors, was named his hometown. In the biography of the fictitious character, typical features of a provincial razor, who replaced a student bench to party work, appear. The biographical plot collected from banal Soviet clichés is abundantly decorated with absurd details. In the visual fabric of the film, graphic elements of the beginning of the 20th century were used: advertisements, species photos, drawings, drawings from medical reference books and family magazines. Despite the ironic tone, the film shows sincere sympathy for the confused and ridiculous fate of the fictional Volga Bolshevik underground.
