The story revolves around a young woman named Bella Baxter. Being pregnant, she tries to escape from her abusive husband and therefore decides to commit suicide by drowning herself in the river. But liberation doesn’t last long. Her body, washed ashore, is found by scientist Godwin Baxter. He decides to bring the girl back to life by transplanting her brain of her own unborn child.So Bella is reborn and falls under the patronage of Baxter. She is overwhelmed with the desire to learn. But the desire to be free is no less strong, so she decides to escape on a journey across continents. Together with her, the depraved lawyer Duncan Webberburn goes on a reckless adventure. Bella is finally free, and she is unwavering in her determination to defend her rights to independence.
