On a remote German country-road, Laura survives a car crash that kills her partner. Though unharmed, she is in a quasi-catatonic daze. Taken in by Betty, an older local woman, Laura becomes a willing blank canvas onto which the stranger dotes her motherly care. Contained and complex, this is a puzzling psychological drama about the connections that bring us back to life after tragedy.
