The friendship between director Sofia Coppola and Marc Jacobs goes back to when she was a fashion photographer and he an emerging designer. She visited him in his New York studio in the twelve weeks leading up to the presentation of his Spring 2024 collection. Coppola observes how, with the help of his team of stylists and assistants, Jacobs plans every aspect of the upcoming show like he's planning a military operation. His perfectionism is not limited to the quality of the materials he uses—he also pays close attention to the length of the models’ nails and the thickness of their eyelashes.
