This story is about the relationship between the inhabitants of a small Mari village and the forest deity Yuma. The boy Yong goes to the forest for cranberries, where many dangers await him. Who should he trust: a squirrel with a nut? The cute wolf cub? To my fellow villagers and grandmother? Or Yume?
