Three intertwined stories – a young boy being prepped by his father, two soldiers longing for each other along the riverside, and interviews with the filmmaker’s parents – reveal a sensitive portrait of growing up in a country where militarisation has become the norm and conscription is always looming. How do we find an identity of our own when we are bound by both our parents’ and our country’s expectations?
