Jugend und Sexualität

The idea for the film Jugend und Sexualität was born as part of the legendary exhibition "Frauen sehen Frauen. Eine wilde, aufregende und gefährliche Schau", which was held in 1975 at the Städtische Galerie zum Strauhof in Zurich. The sociologist Ellen Meyrat, who had designed a listening booth with abortion stories in the exhibition, drew the attention of other women to the fact that in the canton of Zurich the issue of introducing sex education in schools was being debated. Ellen Meyrat, the directors Tula Roy and Lili Sommer, the television presenter Madeleine Hirsiger and the editor Marianne Jäggi then came together to form the Werkfilm collective, which directed the short documentary film Jugend und Sexualität, released in 1979.
