Inter(mediate) Spaces is a multi-user mixed-reality installation where strangers encounter a living archive of reflections on community, memory, and technology gathered across cities worldwide. Two participants begin at opposite ends of a shared environment and move through a living archive built from cross-city Living Lab contributions—audio reflections and images on belonging, technology, and future community. As they encounter these voices and meet in the center, their own dialogue is interpreted by a custom AI system that transforms their surroundings in real time. The work asks whether emerging AI systems can deepen reflection and connection rather than distance us from one another.
