So, now I’ve ended up here. A bump at the tip of England with the prettiest pebbles in the world. Shingle, they call it here. A cottage full of memories and ghosts, perhaps. I’m allowed to stay for two weeks. I have the cottage completely to myself. The nights are cold, but I sleep warm in the big bed made of dark wood, which is like a boat.
