Constructs uses found footage - Canadian state and corporate propaganda promoting resource extraction from the 1940s to the present day - to explore the relationship between extractive industry infrastructure and audiovisual materials in Canada's colonial project. Playing with different glitches to deconstruct the source material, the film investigates how media, narrative, and aesthetics construct the nation-state as much as infrastructure does. It asks: How can intervention into propaganda footage reveal its materiality, subjectivity, and uncertainty?
