Fourteen-year-old Muyi lives in a Chinese mountain village where men are not allowed to enter. Together with two friends, she meets a theater troupe outside the village gates, famous for the play "The Beautiful General." By inviting artists to perform in their village, the girl awakens an angry spirit. To restore balance, Muyi and her friends have to go to ancient China, and this journey will change her life forever. The film "Muyi: The Legend of the Village of Women," directed by Julien Shen ("Ernest and Celestine: New Adventures," "Star Wars: Visions") and Emmy Award—winning studio La Cachette, is a colorful odyssey in which Chinese mythology, time travel and teenage rebellion are intertwined into a narrative about courage, the importance of ancestral memory, and the ability to shape your own destiny.
