Monster is a story about the manipulation of our lives by the powerful. Cause and effect roll downhill, gaining volume, crushing everything in their path. People's lives end just because they stand in the way of disaster. The rolling ball is so huge in an instant that it completely obscures people's view. You can no longer see who at the top of the hill is tapping their foot on the small ball.
