StopTrik International Film Festival
StopTrik puts audiences in charge of its main prizes and explores the range of stop motion, from puppets and clay to cut-outs, pixilation and mixed-media experiments. Based in Maribor, Slovenia, the festival dates back to 2011 and is produced by Pekarna Magdalenske mreže. Its Stop Motion Animation and Borderlands competitions distinguish traditional craftsmanship from experimental approaches, while a separate children’s competition gives young viewers their own vote.
The programme combines contemporary films with themed retrospectives, filmmaker conversations and practical animation workshops, including Workshot 2.0. The festival’s history also includes Polish editions from 2012 to 2024; since 2025, its festival events take place only in Slovenia.
