The Nordic-Baltic animation community is at the centre of Fredrikstad Animation Festival in Norway. Competitions for regional shorts and features sit alongside a global short-film competition, while seminars and lectures address animation practice for professionals, students and educators. A Lifetime Achievement Award recognises figures in Nordic-Baltic animation and gives the programme a historical dimension. The festival traces its origins to Animerte Dager in Oslo in 1994.
Fredrikstad's 2026 festival dates are 21–25 October 2026, with Animated Network Days on 21–23 October providing a dedicated industry programme.
