The 47th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival ran from 31 January to 8 February 2025 in France, drawing more than 173,000 admissions. Its national, international and Lab competitions sat alongside programmes for younger audiences, online filmmaking and immersive cinema. The international jury brought together Flóra Anna Buda, Michelle Couttolenc, Sherif Elbendary and Lawrence Valin. It awarded its Grand Prix to Damian Walshe-Howling’s Unspoken, while Mohamed Bourouissa’s Genealogy of Violence took the national Grand Prix and Esteban Azuela’s Aferrado won the Lab competition. The audience choices ranged from the Palestinian drama Upshot to Two People Exchanging Saliva and the experimental documentary No God No Father. Beyond the film awards, Don Quichotte Films received the Procirep production prize, and Joséphine Ha’s project La Cure thermale won the Bourse des festivals with support from Les Films du Worso. A separate France Télévisions jury, chaired by Louise Courvoisier, honoured Simon Panay’s L’Enfant à la peau blanche and recognised Marylou Cabanel and Rodrigue Toledo for their performances in Boucan.
